YPD 2019 attracted yeast researchers from across Australia and New Zealand. The conference was held at the Wilkinson Lecture Theatre, which was generously provided by the University of Sydney. The conference featured sessions on Industrial and Synthetic Fungi, Virulent Fungi, The Micobiome and Biofilms, Drug Discovery and Development, Networks and Regulation, Yeast and Microfungi in the World and Genetic, Evolution and Resistance. Woven into all of this were a dinner in the University's Great Hall and visits to a series of microbreweries in Marrickville.
